The comparison that matters
What a game night costs, the usual way
The alternative to Nightcap isn't other software — it's paying a person to read
questions out loud. Most trivia companies don't publish a rate card and quote per venue.
Typical US cost of running one game night a week. Human-host figures are market
rates reported by venues and hosts, not quotes from any one company.

A weekly night is about 4.3 nights a month, so $49
works out near $11 a night — less than one table's tab.
Questions
Before you sign up
Do I need to hire a trivia host?
No. The AI host reads every question, calls every number, works the room
between rounds and announces the winner. Someone on shift presses start — and even that can
run off a schedule, so the TV is ready before the first team sits down.
Do players need to download an app?
No. Guests scan the code on the TV and play in their phone's browser.
Nothing to install, no account to create, no wall between a customer and their first
question.
What equipment do I need?
A TV that can open a web page, and sound the room can hear. A smart TV
browser, a cheap streaming stick, or a laptop on HDMI all work. No tablets to buy, no
proprietary boxes, no hardware deposit.
Is there a contract?
No. Month to month, cancel any time, no setup fee and no minimum term.
Worth knowing: some hosted-trivia companies require a multi-month commitment and won't run
a trial night at all.
How much does bar trivia cost with a human host?
In the US a hosted night typically runs a venue about $150 to $200, or
roughly $600 to $800 a month for a weekly game. Rates climb for large venues and busy
metros. Most companies quote privately rather than publishing a price.
What happens after the free month?
Every game at every venue gets its own 30 days. We ask for a payment method
before the trial ends and send reminders as the date approaches. If you do nothing the game
pauses rather than charging you — and pausing never interrupts a night already in progress.
Can I run both trivia and bingo?
Yes, and the second one is $10 off — $68 a month for both at one venue.
They share a dashboard, a login, an email list and a leaderboard, so a regular who wins at
bingo on Thursday shows up on the same board as Tuesday's quiz champions.
I own more than one bar.
Pricing is per venue, and multi-venue groups get a volume discount — the
more venues you run, the lower the per-venue rate. Get in touch and we'll quote it.
